…remember the reason for the fish being in ANY watershed is to spawn.  This drive trumps all others.  So, they’ll spawn just about anywhere you put them unless of course its in a bait box…….

Chasing alewives- I wanted to document their journey.  Last May when I knew the fish had arrived at the Benton dam I asked, “When will they get to Unity Pond?” The answer came back – “24 hours”. So in the following days I visited the intersections.  I lay down on my belly beside 25 Mile Stream at Burnham Junction, in Unity at Moulton’s Mill and at the bridge on the Prairie Road. I talked to the fish. The water was high. I knew they were there but I didn’t see them. Next year I will be more intentional, stay longer. I love chasing moon-eyed fish.
